MUSCAT – The establishment was selling expired paints, paints with removed or erasable expiry dates, and expired powder products.
This action is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to combat commercial fraud, hold violators accountable, and protect consumers from unauthorized or harmful goods.
During field inspections in local markets, judicial officers discovered 935 litres of expired paint, 44 litres of paint with removed expiry dates, 654 litres of paint with erasable expiry dates, 350 kilogrammes of expired powder, and 450 kilogrammes of powder with erasable expiry dates.

In total, 471 paint containers were confiscated. Legal procedures have been initiated in accordance with Article 2 of the Unified GCC Commercial Fraud Combating Law and Article 7 of the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations.
The Authority affirms that it will spare no effort in monitoring and inspecting markets, seizing anything that may harm consumers’ health and safety or undermine their rights, and taking the necessary legal measures against violators.
It further urges consumers to report any violations they may observe in the markets through the Authority’s various communication channels.
