Oman celebrates Prophet’s Birth Anniversary of Hijri Year 1447 AH in Al Dhahirah

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, celebrated the anniversary of Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday for the Hijri year 1447 AH in the Wilayat of Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate.

MUSCAT – The ceremony, which was held in the Al Muhallab bin Abi Sufra Hall at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, was patronised by His Excellency Najib bin Ali bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah. It was attended by a number of distinguished guests, honorees, officials, and members of the local community.


The ceremony included a range of segments celebrating the life and virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Saif bin Ali Al Muqbali, followed by a video clip showcasing a number of ethical gems about the Prophet (PBUH), presented by Abdul Hakim Al Salhi.
Another video presentation, ‘The Birth of the Beloved’, featured a group of children reciting some of the Prophet’s noble characteristics in a heartfelt chanting segment. The programme also included a poem by Omani poet Ahmed bin Salem Al Kalbani, and a rendition of the national anthem by Adnan bin Mohammed Al Mabsali.


The ceremony concluded with a final video segment by artist Abdul Hakim Al Salhi, highlighting the Prophet’s compassion, mercy, and deep concern towards his nation. The presentation delivered powerful messages inspired by the occasion of the Prophet’s birth.


The event is part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs aimed at reviving the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), promoting the values of love and unity among Muslims, and instilling lessons and morals from his biography through cultural and religious programmes.
