GAZA : The move has sparked fresh warnings from the United Nations about the potential forced displacement of nearly one million people.
In a statement, the Israeli occupation forces confirmed that the temporary truce in Gaza City no longer applies, even as airstrikes and shelling continued across the Strip. Local reports said the bombings targeted homes and tents of displaced families, causing further deaths and injuries.
The military has been carrying out an evacuation campaign, ordering residents to move southward, as part of what observers describe as an effort to fully reoccupy Gaza City. Humanitarian agencies fear this will deepen the already dire crisis in the enclave.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said the escalation will put about one million people at risk of further displacement. In a post on X, the agency warned that worsening conditions, including famine, could push Gaza’s population “toward catastrophe.”
“The ongoing bombing and evacuation orders are forcing entire families to flee once again, amid fear and destruction,” UNRWA said.
Last week, members of the UN Security Council, excluding the United States, issued a joint statement calling for an immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, unrestricted aid access, and for Israel to reverse its decision to seize Gaza City.
With the collapse of the truce, humanitarian groups caution that Gaza’s already fragile situation is set to deteriorate further, leaving civilians trapped between escalating violence and worsening shortages of food, medicine, and shelter.
