Muscat: Organized by the Salalah Free Zone in cooperation with the Business Forum, the event aims to support projects that rely on national raw materials, transforming them into competitive products for local, regional, and global markets.

Majid bin Saeed Akaak, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said the forum is focused on two key goals: enabling national light industries to attract and integrate advanced industrial technologies, and supporting local ventures that leverage Oman’s natural resources. He highlighted the forum’s first initiative, organizing trade delegations to attend international exhibitions to attract industries powered by advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence.

The program featured three working papers. The first outlined the role of Salalah Free Zone in empowering light and medium industries as drivers of economic diversification and job creation. The second detailed the financing support offered by Oman Development Bank, while the third showcased incentives available at Raysut Industrial City, part of Madayn.

A visual presentation also highlighted Oman’s infrastructure and investment opportunities. Several pioneering light industry projects and event sponsors were honored during the forum.

An accompanying program continues tomorrow at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dhofar branch, featuring a workshop on “Marketing Strategies for Local Products in Global Markets.”
