Muscat – OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP) has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Ahmed Al Azkawi, who stepped down from his role on August 24, 2025, citing personal reasons.
The company’s Board of Directors accepted Al Azkawi’s resignation during a meeting held the same day. In a statement, the Board expressed its appreciation for his contributions and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.
To ensure continuity in leadership, the Board has appointed Mahmoud Al Hashmi as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Al Hashmi, who currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of OQEP, will assume the responsibilities of the CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
