Muscat: The agreement was inked by His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and Abdul Wahid bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, CEO of Sohar International.
Under the initiative, girls enrolled at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center in Seeb will receive training in skills such as hand-weaving, sewing, and incense and perfume making, enabling them to start small businesses from home. The program is designed to equip them with economic independence, support their social integration, and prepare them to enter the labor market with greater confidence.
Officials emphasized that the agreement forms part of wider efforts to strengthen partnerships between public and private sectors in advancing social initiatives. It also reflects a broader commitment to providing comprehensive social protection for vulnerable groups, empowering them to become self-reliant and active contributors to the community.
