MUSCAT : According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the adverse weather conditions are expected to affect the governorates of Al Wusta, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and southern parts of Al Sharqiyah South and North. Rainfall intensity will vary, ranging from 25 to 60 mm in Al Wusta and Sharqiyah, and 20 to 40 mm in Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah, with some areas at risk of wadis (flash floods).
Dhofar and Al Hajar mountain regions may also witness scattered thunderstorms and rains of 10 to 25 mm. These conditions could trigger the flow of streams and wadis, further raising flood concerns.
The CAA has advised the public to avoid crossing wadis, stay away from low-lying areas, and refrain from sailing during the alert period. Strong downdraft winds with speeds between 15 to 45 knots (28 to 83 km/h) are expected, alongside rough sea conditions, with wave heights along the Arabian Sea rising to 3–4 meters.
