Oman’s APSR warns public not to share OTP or banking details with impersonators

The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has issued a clarification warning beneficiaries of electricity and water services against fraudulent calls and messages requesting sensitive banking information.

MUSCAT : In an official statement, the Authority confirmed that it does not request one-time passwords (OTP), bank account numbers, or any other confidential financial information from service beneficiaries under any circumstances.

“Accordingly, the Authority urges everyone to exercise caution when receiving any calls from entities impersonating its identities, to refrain from cooperating with such calls, and to communicate directly with the relevant authorities to report and take the necessary action,” the announcement stated.
