MUSCAT – A research team from the College of Economics and Business Administration won the Best Research Paper Award at the prestigious International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT Cardiff 2025), hosted by Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
The conference brought together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and experts from around the world to exchange knowledge and insights in business and technology.
The award-winning research team included Dr. Nasser bin Salem Al-Bimani, Dr. Manjay Raman, Dr. Jafar Ali Khan, and Professor Muhammad Tasleem, who presented a paper titled: ‘Innovation Drivers: Success Factors of Business Incubators in the Sultanate of Oman in Line with Oman Vision 2040.’
The paper scientifically analysed important factors influencing the success of business incubators and their role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship – thus contributing to achieving sustainable economic diversification in the Sultanate of Oman.

The research team noted that the study relied on precise scientific methodologies and field data analysis, drawing on leading international experiences in supporting business incubators. The study aimed to provide practical recommendations that could contribute to developing the innovation system in the Sultanate of Oman, in line with the pillars and priorities of Oman Vision 2040.
This accolade reflects the prestigious academic standing enjoyed by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences at the regional and international levels. It also underscores its commitment to enhancing the role of scientific research in serving national development plans, along with its commitment to building knowledge partnerships with global educational and research institutions to support the transfer of knowledge and expertise to national cadres.
