MUSCAT – Najla Al Jamali will assume full responsibilities following a transition period with the current President, Yousuf Mohamed Al Ojaili, who is set to retire at the end of 2025.
The announcement was made via bp Oman’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, where the company expressed its confidence in Najla’s leadership, stating, “We are pleased to announce Najla Zuhair Al Jamali as President bp Oman…”
Najla brings with her over two decades of global experience in the energy sector, having held key roles across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East in major companies such as Shell, Vale, Schlumberger Business Consulting, IHS Energy, and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). Her career spans a diverse mix of onshore and offshore operational, consultancy, and executive leadership positions.

In 2013, Najla joined Oman Oil Company, contributing significantly to shaping its strategic vision. She went on to become Executive Managing Director of Takamul Investment Company in 2016, managing Oman-based investments. By 2020, she played a key role in establishing and growing the Alternative Energy unit at OQ, later becoming Chief Executive of Alternative Energy.
Najla has also held numerous board positions, including as Deputy Chairperson of HSBC Oman, and currently serves on the Hydrogen Advisory Board of the Sustainable Energy Council.
Academically, Najla holds a BSc with Honours in Mathematics with Applied Mathematics/Mathematical Physics from Imperial College London, and an MSc in Financial Management from the University of London. She is also an alumna of Schlumberger’s leadership programme at INSEAD in France.
