Florida: The crew, comprising NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, Japan’s Kimiya Yui, and Russia’s Oleg Platonov, arrived at the ISS aboard SpaceX’s Dragon capsule after a rapid 15-hour journey from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The astronauts are set to begin a six-month mission aboard the orbiting laboratory, where they will carry out a range of scientific experiments and research tasks. Their arrival temporarily brings the total number of astronauts on the ISS to 11.
They will replace the outgoing crew, which is scheduled to return to Earth next Wednesday aboard another SpaceX spacecraft.
