MUSCAT – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has reported a week of significant achievements as part of its ongoing commitment to consumer welfare across Oman. Notably, the CPA was recognized among the best service delivery entities in the Muscat Governorate for the year 2024.
Throughout the past week, the authority recovered a total of OMR 7,000 for consumers in Al Dakhliyah and Al Suwaiq due to non-compliance by service providers, including vehicle specification issues and failure to deliver services on time.
In a key enforcement action, over 8,000 Anker mobile chargers (models 2023–2025) were recalled, and 450 used and expired tires were seized in Dhofar. Additionally, a commercial establishment in South Al Batinah was sentenced to imprisonment and fined OMR 1,000 for violating consumer protection laws.
