MUSCAT – The recall affects Anker models A1681, A1257, A1647, and A1652, manufactured between 2023 and 2025. Consumers are urged to check their devices and verify the serial numbers through the official recall portal at: recall.cpa.gov.om.

The decision to recall these power banks follows reports of electrical short circuits, which could lead to overheating and potentially cause fires. “Accordingly, the company will replace the defective power bank batteries,” stated the CPA announcment.

This initiative is part of the Authority’s ongoing commitment to ensure public safety in collaboration with relevant agencies. It aligns with its continuous commitment to monitor and review all products available in the markets of the Sultanate of Oman, in order to provide the necessary protection for consumers in all sectors.
