MUSCAT – These initiatives align with the comprehensive strategy set by the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and support the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, focusing on ensuring fair commercial practices during the peak tourism season.
The Authority’s activities include intensive field inspections across markets, tourist locations, and commercial outlets, aimed at verifying compliance with consumer protection laws and curbing any deceptive practices that may target both residents and the influx of visitors during the Khareef season. Efforts are reinforced by active communication channels for receiving consumer complaints and inquiries.
A key initiative launched as part of these efforts is the “Your Trust Is Our Goal” campaign, which features field engagement activities at shopping malls, tourist attractions, and community centres across the governorate. The campaign is designed to strengthen consumer interaction and awareness about their rights.

To enhance accessibility and responsiveness, the Authority has also inaugurated a temporary field office in the popular Ateen tourist area, one of the busiest spots during the season. The office, operating daily from July 21 until the end of August, will be open from 3 pm to 9 pm, providing consumers with extended access to file complaints and receive prompt assistance beyond regular working hours.
Furthermore, 11 inspection teams have been deployed across the governorate to ensure comprehensive regulatory coverage, particularly in high-traffic commercial areas, tourist destinations, and recreational zones.
Through this initiative, the Authority reaffirms its full commitment to protecting consumer rights, listening to their observations and reports at the right time and place, in a manner that enhances trust and achieves a safe consumer environment during the tourism season in Dhofar Governorate.
