WASHINGTON – The airline said in a statement today that its flights experienced a technical glitch that impacted operations and requested a comprehensive temporary suspension of Alaska and Horizon Air flights.
The Seattle-based company said the outage would continue to affect its operations throughout the evening, without providing further details.
In April 2024, Alaska Airlines grounded its entire fleet due to a problem with its weight and balance system, just months after the door of a Boeing 737 Max 9 operated by the group exploded in flight.
According to the Alaska Airlines Group website, the company has a fleet of 238 Boeing 737s and 87 Embraer 175s.
