MUSCAT – As part of its ongoing efforts to boost investment and enhance urban infrastructure, Muscat Municipality has announced new public tenders for two major development projects in the Wilayat of Bausher, specifically in the Misfah area. The projects include the establishment, management, and operation of a modern slaughterhouse and a dedicated truck parking facility.
The Municipality is offering investors the opportunity to develop a large-scale slaughterhouse on Plot No. 967, Phase 2, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. The contract period is set at 50 years, with a 5-year rent grace period.
The primary objective is to provide a comprehensive facility capable of handling daily slaughtering needs, with a projected capacity of 300 heads of sheep and 50 heads of cows per day, allowing for future expansion. Project components are set to include the main slaughterhouse building, internal pens, retail shops, restaurants and cafes, a car and truck wash, warehouses, and dedicated workers’ housing.
Also up for tender is a project to establish a truck parking area on Plot No. 1578, Block M/3, with a total area of 120,000 square meters. Investors are required to allocate at least 80 percent of the land for parking purposes. The contract duration is 20 years, with a 12-month rent grace period.
Complementary service facilities will include an administration office, restrooms, a maintenance workshop, a maintenance and washing centre, spare parts and tires sales, and a cafe.
