MUSCAT : The figures underscore a strong recovery and growth trajectory in the Sultanate’s airspace and at its primary international gateway.

Data from the CAA reveals that aircraft movements across Omani airspace surged by 18 percent in June 2025, reaching a total of 50,101 movements. This marks a notable rise from the 42,417 aircraft movements recorded in June 2024.

Concurrently, Muscat International Airport witnessed a 5 percent increase in passenger numbers. The airport served 636,090 passengers in June 2025, demonstrating continued growth in air travel to and from the Sultanate.

This growth comes despite major regional airspace disruptions caused by mid-June military tensions, when Israeli airstrikes on Iran led to widespread airspace closures and flight cancellations across the Middle East.
