CPA conducts over 19,500 inspections to ensure safe commercial environment during 2025 Dhofar Khareef season

As part of its preparations for the 2025 Dhofar Khareef season, the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Dhofar Governorate has intensified its inspection campaigns and field monitoring efforts.

MUSCAT – The initiative aims to ensure that suppliers and vendors comply with applicable rules and regulations, enhancing market confidence and protecting consumer rights during the tourist season.
Dr. Taie bin Salem Al Junaibi, Acting Director General of the CPA in Dhofar, confirmed that the Authority carried out 19,582 inspection visits across markets in the governorate during the first half of 2025, in addition to 14,317 inspections targeting a variety of commercial establishments. These efforts form part of a broader inspection strategy aimed at fostering a safe and trustworthy commercial environment for both residents and tourists.


Al Junaibi also noted the CPA’s efficiency in handling public concerns. The Directorate received 555 consumer complaints, achieving a 97 percent resolution rate, and responded to 214 reports with a 99 percent completion rate, reflecting a high level of responsiveness and public trust.


The Authority emphasised that its intensified field efforts are coordinated with other government and private sector bodies to ensure integrated regulatory oversight and public awareness initiatives. These collaborative measures aim to enhance consumer protection, support business integrity, and contribute to the overall success of the Khareef tourism season in Dhofar.
