MUSCAT – The case involved a used vehicle sold by a car dealership that failed to meet the agreed-upon specifications.
This resolution highlights the CPA’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws.
According to details released by the Authority, the complaint was filed by a female consumer in Muscat Governorate who had purchased a used vehicle from a local car dealership. Upon receiving the vehicle, she discovered that it did not align with the specifications that had been agreed upon during the purchase.
Following the complaint, the CPA initiated the necessary legal procedures, leading to a successful settlement between the consumer and the dealership. As per the agreement, the car dealership committed to refunding the full purchase amount of RO 24,000 to the consumer within one week.
The Consumer Protection Authority urges all suppliers to comply with the applicable consumer protection laws and to fulfil their contractual obligations and conditions, as this ensures the protection of consumers’ rights when providing any goods or services.
