MUSCAT – In its statement, the Ministry confirmed that it is actively coordinating with the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to address the concerns, stressing that the matter falls within the integrated efforts of both entities to enhance public service provision in key tourist areas.

A key step in this direction was the launch of a tender for the Jabal Sharqi Oasis project last April, undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry. The project aims to provide essential services that would support the area’s growing potential as a tourist destination.

The Ministry further emphasised that, as part of Oman’s Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan, integrated strategies are being put in place to improve services at key tourism sites across the country—including Jabal Sharqi. The goal is to align tourism development with environmental sustainability, ensuring that the area evolves into a distinctive and balanced tourist destination.

The Ministry also called on relevant authorities to expedite the implementation of agreed-upon projects, warning that delays may lead to regulatory action, including the withdrawal of usufruct lands that have not been invested in accordance with national tourism and development objectives.
