SHARJAH: Backed by strong infrastructure and strategic planning, the emirate is positioning itself as the UAE’s next big business hub, especially for retail and F&B startups.
With a growing reputation for business-friendliness and a real estate boom to match, Sharjah is offering compelling incentives for startups looking to set up shop in the UAE. Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority mentioned that their focus is on designing and delivering strategic, high-traffic destinations that give entrepreneurs and SMEs the right environment to succeed.
Al Qaseer emphasized that one of Sharjah’s key advantages is its lower operational costs compared to other major cities in the country—a crucial factor for early-stage businesses. Shurooq’s focus, he said, is not on incubation but on enabling businesses to grow by providing access, visibility, and seamless setup processes.
