MUSCAT : According to Dr. Ali Bakheet Fadhil, Operation Officer, Oman Airports Management Company, Salalah Airport recorded 626,000 passengers in 2024, and the figure is expected to climb to 900,000 in 2025, marking a strong upward trend in air travel to the Dhofar Governorate.
In an interview with Oman TV, he pointed out that the list of operating airlines at Salalah Airport has remained largely unchanged, except for the addition of Saudi Airlines, which launched its first-ever service to the governorate. The carrier now operates three weekly flights from Jeddah to Salalah, further strengthening air connectivity between Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Highlighting the composition of air traffic, Dr. Ali noted that domestic flights account for a substantial 60 percent of total air traffic to Salalah. The remaining 40 percent comprises regional flights, primarily originating from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and India.
