Muscat: In a public awareness message, the Ministry stated that undergoing a premarital medical checkup is not only for individuals with a family history of hereditary blood diseases, but for all couples planning to marry.
“Premarital medical examination is a step towards safety and reassurance, and the first foundation for building a healthy family,” it stated, stressing that “the absence of any infection does not mean that the person does not carry the genes for hereditary diseases.”
