MUSCAT : The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of heat stress and the importance of taking preventive measures to protect workers, particularly those in outdoor environments exposed to direct sunlight.

The campaign focuses on educating both employers and workers about the health risks associated with high temperatures during the summer months and emphasises the need to comply with midday work stoppage regulations.

In line with Article 16, Clause 2 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, the Ministry has reiterated that it is prohibited to employ workers at construction sites or in areas exposed to high temperatures between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. during the months of June, July, and August.

The Ministry called on all private sector establishments to cooperate and adhere to the regulation, stressing that the campaign is part of its wider efforts to enhance safe work environment and reduce heat-related injuries.
