MUSCAT : Organised by Oman Exhibitions Company under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the events serve as a comprehensive platform showcasing Oman’s commitment to energy security, climate action, and carbon neutrality by 2050 in alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.






During the opening ceremony, His Highness Sayyid Taimur inaugurated the Oman Centre for Net Zero Neutrality, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The centre will oversee the implementation and development of Oman’s national strategy for achieving net-zero emissions, ensuring organized and measurable progress toward carbon neutrality targets by 2050.
His Excellency Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, highlighted that this national platform reinforces Oman’s vision for a sustainable energy future, enabling knowledge exchange, innovation, and the development of strategic partnerships to enhance economic resilience and climate responsibility.
A key highlight of the opening was the signing of numerous high-value agreements. Energy giant OQ signed 13 strategic agreements valued at over RO 769 million to advance renewable energy initiatives across the Sultanate. These projects will play a crucial role in meeting national carbon neutrality targets and boosting the green economy.
The OQ Exploration and Production Company also launched a training programme, which aims to qualify 430 Omani graduates in both technical and non-technical fields. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Oman Energy Society to manage the initiative, reflecting OQ’s commitment to human capital development and national workforce empowerment.
Additionally, Abraj Energy Services signed a partnership agreement with Ara Petroleum Company Limited, awarding a contract to drill three wells in Concession Area 44. The project is expected to generate RO 1.6 million in revenue, with operations set to commence in Q2 of 2025.
The opening event was attended by ministers, ambassadors, undersecretaries, CEOs, and representatives from over 50 countries and 350 companies, reinforcing Oman’s growing position as a hub for international dialogue on sustainable energy and green investment. With over 2,400 delegates participating, the event features strategic exhibitions, high-level panels, technical workshops, and field visits to key sustainability projects across Muscat and other governorates.
