Don’t disconnect residential electricity services during summer months in Oman: APSR instructs suppliers

The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has directed licensed companies to refrain from disconnecting electricity service to subscribers in the basic account category during the summer months.

MUSCAT : The Authority has also has announced that residential electricity consumers will be offered the option of paying their bills in instalments during the summer period.

This measure aims to ease financial pressure on households during the peak consumption months of May through August 2025.

The option of paying electricity bills in instalments is expected to ensure continuity of service provision and enhance the protection of subscriber rights during the peak demand period due to high summer temperatures. The Authority urges those who meet the conditions to register their data in the National Support System to benefit from the package of facilities and incentives provided.
