Oman sees temperature extremes with Suhar recording 44.7°C, Saiq 18.7°C in last 24 hours

The Civil Aviation Authority’s Meteorology Department has released temperature data for the last 24 hours, highlighting the extremes of weather experienced across the Sultanate.

MUSCAT : According to the report, Saiq registered the lowest temperature at 18.7°C, while Suhar saw a high of 44.7°C in the last 24 hours.

Other areas enjoying cooler climes included Qairoon Hiriti (20.0°C), Dhalkut (21.0°C), Yaaloni (23.0°C), Al Mazyunah (23.1°C), Al Hallaniyat (23.7°C), Muqshin (21.8°C), Haima (22.5°C), Marmul (22.9°C), Fahud (23.9°C), and Um Zamaim (24.0°C).

Conversely, the report indicating highest temperatures in the country, showed Al Suwaiq, following closely behind Suhar with 44.4°C, and Sur at 44.1°C. Several other areas also recorded temperatures exceeding 42 degrees Celsius, including Al Awabi (42.8°C), Baushar (42.7°C), Ibra (42.2°C), Al Seeb (42.2°C), Al Buraimi (41.9°C), Khasab (42.9°C), and Hamra Al Duru (43.4°C), with Fahud reaching 43.0°C.
