Muscat: In line with its commitment to social responsibility, community development and the youth, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, continues to hand over new “Green Sports” fields to sports teams across Oman. The Bank recently participated in the inauguration of the synthetic turf project for Wadi Attayeen Sports and Cultural Team in the Wilayat of Dima W’attayeen at an event held under the patronage of H.E. Abdullah Ali Al Hamahami, Shura Council Member, Representative of Dima W’attayeen. The event was also attended by Bader Mohammed Al Hajri, Assistant Regional Manager – North Al Sharqiya, Bank Muscat, and a number of team members.
Speaking on the occasion, Bader Mohammed Al Hajri, Assistant Regional Manager – North Al Sharqiya, Bank Muscat, said: “We are pleased to congratulate Wadi Attayeen Sports and Cultural Team for the completion of their project as part of “Green Sports” programme. This project will be a valuable addition to the team to make the best use of the facilities, including organising social and community events. The “Green Sports” programme witnesses annually a noticeable turnout from local sports teams and we are proud today to see the positive impact of these projects around the Sultanate.”

A number of Wadi Attayeen Sports and Cultural Team members also expressed their happiness over the project’s inauguration. Salim Shanoon Al Suti, said: “The “Green Sports” programme represents a significant step in supporting youth and sports. The projects implemented provide essential opportunities for skill development and enhances our ability to compete. Investing in sports helps build a healthy and active community.”
From his part, Hamad Salim Al Ruzaiqi, said: “Social responsibility programmes like “Green Sports” are pivotal for the community. They not only improve sports infrastructure but also foster a sense of belonging and collaboration among youth, opening new horizons for various social event.”
Additionally, Abdullah Musallam Al Musalami, said: “We thank Bank Muscat for its valuable and ongoing support that has contributed to the success of this project. Bank Muscat’s “Green Sports” programme is one of the leading CSR programmes in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the Bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman. The support includes greening of football pitches, water desalination and lighting. It is a matter of great encouragement that the Bank Muscat’s “Green Sports” programme has so far benefitted 203 teams with over 70,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman.
