Muscat – From the beginning of 2025 to mid-April alone, 1,564 tenders were awarded, with 818 going to local companies, 6 to international firms, and 740 to SMEs.

The GSTB confirmed that the number of companies registered on the national procurement platform ‘Isnad’ has reached 17,523 by mid-April 2025. This includes 9,717 local companies, 3,371 international companies, and 4,352 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), along with other entities such as real estate owners.

Statistics show that a total of 3,510 tenders have been offered through the Isnad platform so far this year. These include 2,145 local tenders, 90 international tenders, and more than 1,127 tenders specifically allocated to SMEs, highlighting a strong push to enhance SME participation in public procurement.
Cementing on the platform’s performance, Turki bin Sulaiman Al-Hasani, Director General of Statistics and Information Systems, pointed out that the ‘Isnad’ platform acts as an integrated national centre for procurement, streamlining procedures, reducing change orders, and ensuring adherence to approved budgets. He explained that the platform has enhanced the implementation quality of government projects and significantly broadened the base of participating companies, reinforcing fair competition and equal opportunity, especially for SMEs.

He further emphasised that the platform contributes to maximising the benefits of government spending by adopting local, regional, and international best practices, thereby contributing to sustainable economic development.

Underscoring the platform’s success, Eng. Saeed bin Hamad Al Amri, Director General of Tenders, noted that the Tender Board had awarded tenders worth RO 203 million by the end of March 2025. He added that 26 tenders, totalling RO 400 million, were offered during the first three months of the year.
