MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Education for Muscat Governorate has refuted rumours circulating on social media platforms regarding an assault on a female student by her classmates in a school in Muscat.
In a statement issued, the office of DG of Education for Muscat Governorate confirmed that the “information is incorrect and has no connection to reality”.
“There are no similar cases recorded in any of the schools in the Governorate,” the statement said.

“The Directorate calls for accuracy, obtaining information from official sources, and avoid publishing or circulating rumours that cause anxiety among students and their parents,” the DG said.
“Legal action will be taken against those who contributed to spreading this rumour,” the statement added.
