Muscat – In a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange, Ahli Bank stated that its Board of Directors has resolved to cancel the rights issue initially announced on March 26, 2025.
“With reference to the earlier disclosure made by Ahli Bank SAOG (Ahli Bank) on 10 April 2025 regarding the acceptance of the Letter of Intent submitted by Sohar International Bank SAOG in relation to the proposed merger, the Board of Directors of Ahli Bank has resolved to cancel the rights issue previously announced on 26 March 2025, given that the proposed merger, may involve substantial changes to Ahli Bank’s capital structure and future strategic plans,” stated the disclosure.
Ahli Bank further confirmed that it has obtained a “no objection” letter from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) on 14 April 2025, formally approving the cancellation of the rights issue.
The bank also assured that it will continue to disclose any material developments material developments to the market in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
