MUSCAT : This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of government spending and streamline the procurement process.

The circular mandates that all units within the state’s administrative apparatus, subject to the Tenders Law, must now utilise a single platform for purchasing desktop computers, laptops, and tablets.

Following are the procedures outlined in the circular:

  1. All requests for the purchase or supply of computers and accessories must be made through the electronic requests management platform at www.amanah.gov.om. It is important to attach a financial commitment to the request, given the availability of financial allocations for the purchase process.
  2. During the validity period of contracts concluded through the electronic system, no tender for the supply of computers or accessories shall be offered except through the General Secretariat of the Tender Board.

The Ministry of Finance has also instructed internal audit units in all relevant government agencies to ensure strict compliance with these new guidelines. Agencies are expected to follow the provisions outlined in the relevant laws and systems.

For further inquiries, concerned parties are encouraged to contact the General Secretariat of the Tender Board at (24402201) or via email at GPU-IT@gstb.gov.om.
