MUSCAT : Driven by its strong commitment to social responsibility, its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of volunteerism and embed the values of community sustainability, Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) recently organized a series of humanitarian initiatives. These initiatives involved distributing gifts to more than 600 children of various age groups across Dhofar Governorate, Musandam, and the Wilayat of Ibri.
The initiatives included visits to hospitals and rehabilitation centers for people’s with disabilities, with the aim of spreading joy among children ahead of Eid Al-Fitr and strengthening ties between the company and community-based institutions. They also aimed to instill values of generosity and social solidarity.
These efforts fall under the company’s broader strategy to support all segments of Omani society by driving sustainable development through various community programs and volunteer campaigns across sectors such as healthcare, education, and tourism.

In this context, Ms. Samira bint Salem Al Mughairi, Manager of Communications and Sustainability at OETC, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting a wide range of institutions and community initiatives. These include higher education institutions, schools, healthcare centers, charitable organizations, volunteer teams, and tourism sites. She emphasized that such initiatives reflect OETC’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and creating a positive impact in society.
Al Mughairi further highlighted the company’s focus on achieving sustainability across key pillars—environmental, social, and governance (ESG)—which are embedded into the company’s corporate goals. This dedication was recognized last year when OETC received the Gold Award during the 2024 Oman Sustainability Awards, held as part of the Oman Sustainability Week.
She concluded by saying:
“At OETC, we believe our responsibility extends beyond operations to creating a tangible, lasting social impact. These initiatives contribute to improving quality of life and strengthening national unity. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote volunteerism and help build a cohesive and empowered community.”
It is worth mentioning that OETC, a member of Nama Group, is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity across the Sultanate’s network. The electricity is transmitted from production stations to distributed load centers in the governorates. The transmission network operates at a voltage of 132kV and above to cover most of the governorates in the Sultanate, whether in the north or the south. Furthermore, OETC manages the interconnection lines between Oman and the GCC interconnection network, which operates at a voltage of 220kV.
