Oman’s Shura Council to host Minister of Heritage and Tourism for key sector review

The Majlis A'Shura is set to convene on Monday, March 24, for its second regular session (2024-2025) of the tenth term, where it will host His Excellency Salim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Muscat – The Minister will deliver a statement outlining the ministry’s policies, plans, and programs in the heritage and tourism sectors.

The statement, which forms part of the session’s agenda, will focus on six key areas: policies, development plans, overall tourism progress, coordination efforts, and future investment opportunities. It will also address the alignment of the Ministry’s activities with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040, offering insights into the tourism sector’s progress during the current five-year plan and expectations for the upcoming plan.

Discussions will also centre on the Ministry’s role in fostering partnerships with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the heritage and tourism sectors. The session will also review draft laws referred by the government for further consideration.

Members of the Shura Council will engage in discussions with the Minister, addressing critical topics such as heritage and tourism sector management, human resources, and investment. The session will also include a review of several draft laws submitted by the government.
