Muscat – This initiative, aimed at promoting self-reliance and enhancing the practical and scientific skills of students in the agricultural field, is part of the broader efforts by the Ministry of Social Development to rehabilitate and support individuals with disabilities.

Khalid bin Ismail Al Balushi, the reserve’s supervisor, said the agricultural reserve project aims to train students with disabilities in various agricultural stages, from planting seeds to harvesting, with a focus on the use of modern agricultural techniques such as drip irrigation systems and organic fertilizers. The agricultural reserve also serves as an educational platform, where students can further develop their agricultural expertise.

The project reflects the Ministry of Social Development and Al Wafa Centres’ commitment to creating a supportive environment for people with disabilities, fostering both academic and practical training.
This initiative also aims to promote the social integration of students with disabilities. Field visits and activities are organized regularly to invite schools, farmers, and the community to learn about the students’ capabilities and the impact of the project.
