MUSCAT: The Ministry of Labour aims to create 45,000 jobs including 10,000 in the government sector in 2025, according to His Excellency Professor Mahad Bin Said Bin Ali Baawain.
Addressing the annual conference organised by the Ministry, the Minister said the year 2024 saw the lowest requests to terminate the services of Omanis.
“2020 saw the highest number of requests to terminate the services of Omanis, but 2024 saw the lowest. The number of requests submitted to the labor negotiations and the Economic Committee reached 231,” the Minister said.

“Establishments applied to terminate the services of 5,402 Omanis, and the committee approved only 87.
The number of Omanis who were kept in the job was 4,892 Omanis,” he added.
