Muscat – His Excellency commended the document presented by the Office, which outlined the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) contributions to the World Summit. He underscored the importance of promoting social development and social justice globally, highlighting the need for increased investment in social protection, the eradication of poverty, and the advancement of social inclusion.
His Excellency stressed the need for comprehensive policies that support the creation of decent jobs and sustainable growth. He also emphasized the importance of fostering an environment conducive to both local and international investments.
He also noted the progress made by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in achieving sustainable development. He pointed to the expansion of social protection programmes and the localisation of jobs, underscoring the GCC’s efforts to strike a balance between the national and expatriate workforce.
