Oman’s labour ministry conducts 1599 inspection campaigns in Dhofar, deports over 800 workers in 2024

The Ministry of Labour, through the Joint Inspection Team Office in the General Directorate of Labour in Dhofar Governorate, has released the results of its extensive inspection campaigns conducted in 2024.

MUSCAT : The Ministry conducted a total of 1,599 inspection campaigns in 2024 to ensure private sector establishments’ compliance with the Labour Law.

The inspection results revealed a significant number of violations, with a total of 3,853 instances of non-compliance. Among the violations, 499 workers were found to have left their employment, while 768 were found working for employers other than their registered ones.

Besides, 1,886 cases were identified where workers were self-employed or had expired residency permits, and 810 individuals were found to be deported.

The Ministry also referred 453 labour-related reports to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
