MUSCAT : The project aims to enhance Oman’s cold chain infrastructure, boost export competitiveness, and support economic diversification. Interested companies can purchase tender documents until March 18, 2025, with bids due by April 17, 2025.

Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Akaak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, highlighted the project’s potential to improve the efficiency of cold chain operations, enhance the competitiveness of Omani exports, and support economic diversification.

He stressed that the Integrated Economic Cluster for Cold Chains project aims to enhance the capabilities of the SEZAD to store and distribute perishable products such as food and pharmaceutical products with high efficiency, thereby reducing waste and improving product quality.

He explained that the project focuses on enhancing the competitiveness of Omani exports for global markets by providing an integrated infrastructure that enables local products to meet international standards. The project also aims to support economic diversification and revitalisation of the logistics services sector in Duqm.

The Special Economic Zone at Duqm includes an integrated set of infrastructure that supports the success of the new project. These include fishing port, Duqm Port, and Duqm Airport, in addition to an advanced network of dual and single roads that cover various investment areas, residential centres, and tourist sites in the region.
