MUSCAT : The Sultanate was ranked 22nd globally, underscoring its commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.

This top ranking within the Arab world is attributed to Oman’s meticulously implemented strategies designed to reduce pollution and enhance overall environmental health. The Numbeo index, a comprehensive assessment, evaluates factors such as air and water quality, effective waste management, noise pollution control, and the expansion of green spaces.

While many industrialised nations grapple with escalating environmental challenges due to rapid urbanisation and industrial growth, Oman’s balanced approach to development and conservation sets a regional and global example. The achievement also highlights the pivotal role of the Environment Authority in executing strategies aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

The 2025 Pollution Index ranking further reinforces Oman’s status as one of the cleanest countries in the world and a leading advocate for environmental conservation.
