MUSCAT : The department has called on all eligible blood donors from the community, (non-fasters), to visit the Central Blood Bank today between 8 am and 12:30 pm to help meet the rising demand for blood donations.

The appeal comes as the demand for O negative blood, a rare and vital type, has increased significantly, leaving stocks severely depleted.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Central Blood Bank has adjusted its operating hours to accommodate both fasting and non-fasting donors. The morning donation hours are from 8 am to 12:30 pm, while the evening hours are from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with the last opportunity for platelet donations being at 10:30 pm.
