MUSCAT : The inaugural dialogue session, organised by the Government Communication Center, featured Dr. Faisal bin Abdullah Al Farsi, CEO of the Social Protection Fund, who highlighted the critical challenge of early retirement.
During the session, Dr. Al Farsi stressed the detrimental effects of early retirement, a system he noted “does not exist anywhere in the world except in the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf States.”
He explained that this practice is a major contributor to the financial strain on pension funds, necessitating a shift towards a more sustainable model. “Everyone is moving towards getting rid of this system because it causes losses to the funds,” he stated.
