MUSCAT : The initiative, being implemented through the Tawteen platform, aims to increase the employment of Omani citizens within the sector.

This initiative is designed to enhance the involvement of Omani nationals in various industries, ensuring that they are well-qualified and positioned to raise productivity and contribute to the development of society. This initiative supports Omani citizens by offering them opportunities in infrastructure and basic services, two vital areas in the nation’s growth.

The number of job vacancies under the second phase of the initiative stands at 885, with 406 permanent positions currently being offered. These roles are distributed among several key companies, including Galfar, Global Chemicals LLC, Nafal, Al Tayer, and Veolia.

Currently, the Omanisation rate stands at 55 percent, with expectations to rise to 70 percent following the completion of the first phase. Once the second phase is completed, the Omanisation rate is projected to reach 84 percent.

For candidates seeking to apply for these positions, the following criteria apply:

1. The applicant must be a registered job seeker with the Ministry of Labor.
2. Have a minimum of three months since their last registered work movement in the Ministry of Labor system.
3. Applicants must be under 35 years of age and have not benefited from any government or private sector-funded training in the past.
   
   Priority in the initial screening will be given to residents of the respective governorates, and educational qualifications will be considered. Successful candidates will undergo an examination or interview to determine final selection.
