VEX Robotics Championship students to represent Oman in global competition in the U.S.

The Directorate General of Education in South Al Batinah Governorate has secured first place in Oman at the VEX Robotics National Competition, earning both the Excellence Award and Robot Skills Champion Award

Muscat: This victory grants the team a spot in the global competition set to take place in the United States in May 2025.

The winning team comprises trainer Abdullah bin Salem Al-Abri, an innovation specialist, and four students from Sheikh Abu Qahtan Al-Hijari Basic Education School in the Wilayat of Al-Awabi:

Zakaria bin Hilal Al-Kharousi

Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Bahri

Moaz bin Khalid Al-Mayahy

Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Kharousi

Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Hanai, the school’s principal, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating, “Achieving first place in the Sultanate of Oman in this national competition enhances students’ experiences and increases their passion for technology and robotics, emphasizing the importance of technical education and practical skills in preparing a generation capable of facing the challenges of the future. We hope that this team will achieve achievements.”

The team’s victory marks a major milestone in Oman’s education and innovation landscape, showcasing the country’s commitment to STEM education and preparing young minds for global challenges.
