Royal Oman Police imposes truck restrictions to reduce traffic congestion during Ramadan

To prevent traffic congestion during the holy month of Ramadan, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced a temporary ban on truck movement during peak hours on key roads.

MUSCAT : According to a circular issued by the ROP, truck movement will be restricted during the following times:

From Sunday to Thursday:

  • Morning period: 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon period: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

    On Saturdays:
  • From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

    The restriction will apply to the following key roads:

    • Sultan Qaboos Road: From the Al Qurum Intersection in Muscat Governorate to the Khatmat Milaha Border Post in North Al Batinah Governorate.
    • Sultan Thuwayni bin Said Road: From the Burj Al Sahwa Roundabout in Muscat Governorate to the Bidbid Bridge in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
    • Main roads in Muscat Governorate.

The Royal Oman Police urges truck drivers to adhere to the above instructions in the interest of public welfare.
