Muscat – This partnership aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of Omani nationals across various specialisations to fill critical technical and administrative roles within the technology sector.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed by His Excellency Salem bin Muslim bin Ali Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, and Farhat Jahangir, CEO of GSME Oman.

The partnership seeks to support human resources development and enhance job opportunities for Omanis.

The agreement focuses on encouraging private companies to hire national job seekers and equip them with functional and practical skills to succeed in the labour market. The programme also aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes attracting investment projects in the technology sector.

The objectives of the programme include determining the skills needed for roles in semiconductor applications and solutions, as well as offering career opportunities in the technology sector, specifically within semiconductor manufacturing. The initiative will fund training programmes and create 100 job opportunities, with an initial 50 positions available at the company. If other companies in the sector offer employment guarantees, the remaining positions will be filled accordingly.
