Muscat – As part of the development efforts, the ministry is working on establishing a high-wire (via ferrata) track on Jabal Samhan, offering an exhilarating adventure experience on iron tracks along steep mountain slopes.

In addition, the ministry is improving the mountain walking paths in Ain Hasheer, Tabaldi trees, and Ain Ghaydh by installing directional signs to guide visitors and repainting international walking markers. Some sections of the trails have also been paved to make the paths more accessible to tourists, further encouraging visitors to explore the scenic beauty of the region, including the Tabaldi tree and Ain Ghaydh areas.

Dhofar Governorate’s unique geographical landscape, with its diverse mountains, caves, and water springs, has long made it a popular destination for adventure tourism. Over 40 well-known mountain trails in the governorate are frequented by hiking and mountain walking enthusiasts, making it an ideal location for outdoor activities. These development projects aim to attract even more visitors, strengthening the region’s position as a premier adventure tourism destination.
