Omani Teacher’s Day: NCSI data shows 53,000 teachers in public schools

On the occasion of Omani Teacher's Day, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has released preliminary data revealing the total number of teachers in public schools for the 2024/2025 academic year.

MUSCAT : According to the data, there are 53,000 Omani teachers currently serving in schools across the Sultanate.

The figures provide a snapshot of the composition of Oman’s public school teachers, highlighting significant gender distribution within the profession. The data indicates that:

• Females constitute a substantial 75 percent of the total Omani teachers.
• Males represent the remaining 25 percent of the workforce.

This data underscores the vital role that teachers play in shaping Oman’s future and highlights the strong presence of female educators within the nation’s public school system.
