Muscat: The program, which welcomes wide participation from different segments of society, features events dedicated to Omani women, poetry evenings, and heritage showcases.

Haitham bin Ali Al Mayasi, General Supervisor of the Events, emphasized that the initiative is part of a larger effort to revitalize the fort as a cultural and social hub. “Organizing these events comes within a plan to revive the fort and enhance its role as a cultural and social center that contributes to strengthening the relationship between generations and consolidating national values. We have been keen for the events to be diverse and comprehensive to suit all segments of society, with a focus on highlighting the Omani heritage, which represents an integral part of the national identity,” he said.

Among the standout activities was a special event celebrating Omani women, which saw the participation of over 500 women. The event highlighted their achievements and creativity, featuring an exhibition of traditional Omani cuisine and culinary arts. Additionally, the poetry evenings brought together patriotic poets, showcasing their work in national and cultural verse.

He explained that work is underway to launch a historical exhibition inside the fort, which will include a variety of archaeological artifacts that reflect the various historical stages in the state, in addition to rare documents and photos that tell stories from the past, noting that this exhibition will constitute an educational and cultural platform that enhances the community’s awareness of the importance of preserving the national heritage and passing it on to future generations.
