Bank Muscat celebrates the inauguration of Al Marsa Sports Team’s Lighting Project 

A number of team members also expressed their opinions on the team's role in developing their abilities and providing support facilities for them to carry out various activities

 Muscat: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, recently celebrated the inauguration of the lighting system project for the Al Marsa Sports & Cultural Team in the Willayat of Sohar. The event was organised under the auspices of Rashid Salim Al Kaabi, Chairman of The Art for National Quality, and was attended by officials from the Bank and team members.

On this occasion, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shizawi, Regional Manager – Al Dhahira, Bank Muscat, said: “We are delighted to extend our warmest wishes to Al Marsa Sports & Cultural Team in Sohar on the launch of the lighting system project. The Green Sports programme has consistently attracted enthusiastic participation and stands out as one of the leading CSR programmes implemented by Bank Muscat. Our commitment to fostering a positive impact on local sports teams, Omani youth, and the broader community remains steadfast. We look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that promote growth and development in these vital areas. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the team every success in their future endeavors.” 

On his part, Abdullah Said Al Balushi, Head of Al Marsa Sports & Cultural team in Sohar, said: “We are thrilled to commemorate the launch of Al Marsa Team’s lighting project, a significant initiative within the Green Sports programme. Local sports teams play a vital role in fostering youth engagement and community activities by offering suitable venues for diverse events. This project’s success is a testament to the collaboration among all stakeholders involved. I extend my gratitude to Bank Muscat for their unwavering support of local sports teams, and I wish to emphasize our commitment to continuing our efforts in promoting youth and sports throughout Oman.”

Ahmed Khalfan Al Balushi, Captain of Al Marsa team, said: “The lighting project represent a significant enhancement to the field’s facilities. It will enable us to utilize the space more effectively for various evening activities. We are optimistic that this initiative will inspire our young team members to pursue their passion, refine their skills and bolster the team’s collective efforts.”

In addition, Ahmed Ali Al Balushi, said: “The Green Sports programme from Bank Muscat significantly supports youth and sports. The support received by Al Marsa team enhances its vital role in the community, serving as a platform for social events across all age groups. This initiative strengthens social ties and fosters skill development, positively impacting the community overall.” 

Muscat Bank has been keen to expand its social responsibility activities through its well-received and prosperous sustainable initiatives. Every year, there is intense competition among sports teams to take advantage of the areas of support offered by the Green Sports program, which is one of the most significant initiatives of sustainable social responsibility. Since its establishment, 203 teams have benefited from it, and there are roughly 70,000 beneficiaries overall.
